1. Finding new ways to reduce pressure on our emergency departments

    With the growing demands on our emergency departments (ED), the importance of ED divergence is critical in primary care to allow for resources to be allocated where they are needed most. Based on current usage, approximately 2,800 ED presentations and 360 ambulance trips are expected to have been avoided in the EMPHN region with the My Emergency Doctor After Hours (MED AH) service over an 18-month period.

  2. EOI - Additional State Funded General Practice Respiratory Clinics (GPRC)

    Ongoing COVID-19 cases in Victoria has highlighted the critical role of primary care in reducing demand on hospitals, including presentations to emergency departments (EDs) for respiratory-type symptoms. The Victorian Government and Victorian Primary Health Networks are collaborating to support more Victorians to access respiratory assessments and COVID-19 testing and care close to where they live.
