First Peoples’ Health and Wellbeing are seeking a Registered (Div 1) clinical nurse specialist for their Thomastown clinic with a minimum of 5 years experience in primary health care. The role is a permanent fulltime position,
38 hours per week.

First Peoples’ Health and Wellbeing is a not-for-profit Aboriginal Community Controlled health service delivering trauma informed, culturally safe, primary health care and mental health care services. You will be working with a supportive team of nurses, allied health professionals, general practitioners and medical administration officers who are passionate about providing health services to First Nations People.

This role will be required to deliver a clinical program based on the CNS’s specialist area. This will include facilitating education, support, and care to clients within the clinic. The role will also provide leadership and education to other clinical colleagues including doctors, GP registrars, medical and nurse students and allied health professionals. The clinical nurse specialist will assist in community engagement educational initiatives and health promotion activities.

Qualifications and Experience
- Registered with AHPRA as a division 1 nurse
- Appropriate post-graduate qualification in specific nursing field with 12 months’ experience working in clinical area of specific post graduate qualification
- A minimum of 5 years experience in primary health care
- Experience in nursing mentorship, education, supervision, and/or management
- Familiar with Best Practice medical software and Polar data system
- Understanding and experience with AGPAL accreditation process
- Evidence of ongoing professional development as reflected in Professional Practice Portfolio
