Victoria’s newest headspace centre is now open in the Syndal area.

The centre was officially opened by Ms Gladys Liu MP, federal member for Chisholm, on Thursday 15 July.

headspace Syndal is staffed by GPs, mental health professionals and community development workers who will support more than one thousand young people in the first year with their mental health and wellbeing, physical health needs and alcohol and drug counselling as well as work or study support.

Ms Liu was joined by headspace National CEO Jason Trethowan, key funding partner Eastern Melbourne PHN CEO Janine Wilson, state member for Mt Waverley Matt Fregon MP and several key community and health organisation representatives.

headspace Syndal is within a few minutes' walk of Syndal train station, along the Blackburn Rd bus route and close to local schools, which will provide easy access for teens and young adults coming from school, home, work or further study.

The centre has been funded by the Australian government under its PHN program.
