Practices will no longer be able to fax referrals to My Aged Care at the end of July.
Referrals by phone and through the My Aged Care website will continue, along with electronic referrals through practice management software.
The department is encouraging the use of My Aged Care eReferrals, which uses HealthLink’s SmartForm technology and is integrated into Best Practice, Genie, MedicalDirector, Medtech Evolution, Shexie and Zedmed.
For those who don’t have a compatible software, patients can be referred to My Aged Care via the phone, the the My Aged Care website or the MyHealthLink Portal, a web-based solution for sending SmartForms.
