From 1 November 2023 the following Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) came into effect:
New triple bulk-billing incentives (BBI) items - please refer to links below for item numbers relevant to your Modified Monash area
A new level E long consultation item can be claimed for complex attendances lasting 60 minutes or longer
A six-minute minimum time requirement will apply to routine and after-hours (non-urgent) level B consultations conducted in rooms or via home, institution or residential aged care visits
Additional telephone items have been added for longer consults for MyMedicare-registered patients
An additional indexation of 0.5% has been applied some items.
There are no changes to patient eligibility for BBIs. Commonwealth concession card holders and patients aged under 16 years of age will be eligible for tripled BBIs when they receive an eligible service.
