Letter to General Practitioners from Healthscope

Letter to General Practitioners from Healthscope

29 July, 2020

Dear General Practitioner,

We are asking for your help to help care for vulnerable Victorians impacted by a number of COVID-19 outbreaks in aged care facilities.

At the urgent request of the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Healthscope is currently caring for over 45 residents from impacted aged care facilities at our Bellbird Private (Blackburn), Latrobe Private (Bundoora) and within isolated wards at Knox Private (Wantirna), and John Fawkner (Coburg) sites. Many of the residents are COVID-positive.

We are seeking immediate support from local doctors to care for these vulnerable individuals, and we hope you can help. Healthscope will ensure all GPs will be appropriately remunerated for their time and expertise. You will be credentialled for our sites as Visiting Medical Officers, to provide in-patient medical care. GPs will also be provided with training and be supported on site by credentialled specialists where any medical matter requires escalation.

And GPs should rest assured that all Healthscope sites carry extensive PPE to protect yourself, our staff and our patients.

Healthscope’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Victoria Atkinson has further outlined the urgent need for help in a short video, please view it here.

Please contact Anne Moutsos, Healthscope Victorian Business Development Manager, at anne.moutsos@healthscope.com.au or mobile 0420 895 910 at your earliest convenience if you would like to learn more to help us in this important work.
