EMPHN would like to congratulate Claire Oettinger of the Get Well Clinic in Healesville on winning the 2023 Victorian Rural Health Award for Outstanding Contribution to Rural Primary Care Nursing from the Rural Workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV). Claire Oettinger works diligently as Practice Nurse, supporting GPs and patients at the clinic as well as dedicating time to the Doctors in Secondary Schools program, providing essential care and support to students directly in the school setting.
She leads in Women’s Health, serving as a respected Nurse Educator in Cervical Screening and establishing a peer-support group for healthy weight management. She spearheads initiatives such as Healthy Heart Checks, Bone Density Scanning, and cancer screening improvement programs at the Get Well Clinic.
