EMPHN welcomed Assistant Minister for Health and Ageing, Ged Kearney to the new Epping Evoca Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic at the start of February. The Assistant Minister was taken on a tour of the state-of-the-art facility, connecting with dedicated staff, clinical experts and inspiring patients.
Research reveals that 1 in 2 Australian women experience pelvic pain, yet half of them stay silent about their symptoms, despite the significant impact on work or study. With government funding, clinics like this can offer appropriate and timely treatment to individuals battling endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain.
Three new specialised clinics, located in Epping, Ringwood and Yarra Junction, have been established within the EMPHN region to reduce delays in diagnosis, and to promote early intervention, care and treatment for people experiencing the debilitating effects of endometriosis and pelvic pain.
