Vacancy Details

Due to illness/isolation/furlough/resignations there is a growing shortage of medical personnel to work in several areas at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. In particular, there is a current role for GPs in their Fever Clinic but other roles may well need filling.

The fever clinic is open 0800 -2000 7 days per week , with 2 shift times of 0730 -1600 and 1200 -2030 on offer. There may also be a middle of day shift required depending on demand.

The doctor's role is predominantly clinical oversight and review of patients who have been triaged, had observations done and been swabbed by nursing staff, who then hit predefined criteria of concern and may require admission via ED. In addition, completion of medical certificates and medical documentation is required. The doctor has a separate room with a computer so may be able to do other work as well. There will be onboarding from the ID registrar with regards to all aspects of the clinic/PPE/protocols. It is planned to use the Find My Shift app to facilitate booking and confirming shifts and then payments. There is a simple user guide for this which will be supplied to those who flag their willingness to assist. There may be  an opportunity for short term contracts and remuneration will be at award rates

If you can assist please apply via the website link above, and include your name, any subspecialty, email address, contact phone number and availability.  The  below documents will be requested and required for credentialing purposes:
