After Hours Medical Support - My Emergency Doctor

24 February, 2021

My Emergency Doctor is a telehealth service providing access to an emergency specialist doctor for acute medical conditions when a patient’s usual doctor isn't available and if there is uncertainty about attending a hospital emergency department.

Through a partnership with EMPHN, residents of eastern and north-eastern Melbourne can access the service at no cost within the after-hours* period. My Emergency Doctor is available for all Residential Aged Care Facilities within EMPHN in the after-hours*.

Carers, nurses and families of residents can access the service through an easy-to-use web solution, on any smart device. Alternatively, dial 1800 000 633 to speak to a doctor. For more information on how to connect to My Emergency Doctor download the user guide.

My Emergency Doctor is not a replacement for the GP or the ambulance service. If a patient is experiencing a time-critical emergency and/or is unconscious, has chest pain, difficulty breathing, uncontrolled bleeding or has been in a major accident, please dial 000 immediately

*After hours include before 8am and after 6pm on weekdays; before 8am and after 12 noon on Saturdays; and all day Sundays and public holidays. Calls made outside these hours will incur a fee.
