My Emergency Doctor is a telehealth service providing access to an emergency specialist doctor for acute medical conditions when a patient’s usual doctor isn't available and if there is uncertainty about attending a hospital emergency department.
Through a partnership with EMPHN, residents of eastern and north-eastern Melbourne can access the service at no cost within the after-hours* period. My Emergency Doctor is available for all Residential Aged Care Facilities within EMPHN in the after-hours*.
We encourage carers, nurses and families of residents to review these instructions on how to download/use the My Emergency Doctor App with eligible residential post codes for any future immediate need of this urgent care service.
In the event a connection cannot be made with the My Emergency Doctor App, telephone connection can be made by calling 1800 000 633 (1800 000 MED). Please note, this service is not a replacement for 000 - if the patient is unconscious, has chest pain, difficulty breathing, uncontrolled bleeding or has been in a major accident, please dial 000.
*After hours include before 8am and after 6pm on weekdays; before 8am and after 12 noon on Saturdays; and all day Sundays and public holidays. Calls made outside these hours will incur a fee. Guide on how to use My Emergency Doctor
