Event Details
Eastern Melbourne PHN would like to invite you to attend the inaugural workshop of the Place-Based Suicide Prevention Trials and contribute to creating a new future for suicide prevention in the City of Maroondah.
Suicide can be prevented. The loss of a life to suicide is a tragedy and has a lasting impact on individuals, families, communities, and the nation. Suicide rates in Australia have not declined over the past decade, with recent statistics showing they may actually be rising.
Eastern Melbourne PHN has received Federal Department of Health funding to develop, coordinate and establish a plan for how we can work together to prevent suicide across the City of Maroondah.
This workshop aims to gather together people who can contribute to the conversation and solutions; community groups, associations, sporting clubs, government, non-government, business, health, education, hospital, emergency responders, researchers, consumers and carers and industry stakeholders to collectively identify the needs and actions required for the region in relation to suicide prevention.
This will be the first of a series of workshops which will engage community and services in a regional approach to suicide prevention planning and action. The outcomes of these events will inform a Suicide Prevention Action Plan.
