Event Details
This session will provide information about currently available opioids in Australia, their use in patients with palliative care needs in managing distressing symptoms of pain and dyspnoea, and what guides our selection of opioids for individual patients. Discussions about medicolegal aspects of opioid prescriptions will also occur.
Learning outcomes:
Participants will be able to:
- select appropriate opioids for management of pain and dyspnoea in palliative care patients
- confidently navigate medicolegal aspects to provide appropriate opioid prescriptions for palliative care patients.
