Course in wound closure

This 10762NAT course in wound closure includes an online assessment completed via accessIQ, one-day face-to

face workshop and an in-class activities assessed by assessor. Students need to complete the online

component before they are able to book into a workshop date.

As part of this one-day course, you will have the opportunity to explore a range of methods and learn the

unique benefits and limitations of each wound closure and suturing technique that must be considered in

each individual case.

The one-day workshop topics and activities will include:

• Wound assessment

• Identifying and managing different types of wounds

• Using local anaesthetic

• Closure methods and selection of appropriate materials

• Simulated wound closure

• Simulated assessment tasks

• Documentation and follow up and referral.
