Prescribing Pharmacotherapies for Opioid Dependence - GP mentoring scholarship

03 January, 2018

GPs who have completed the training for Medication Assisted Treatment of Opioid Dependence (MATOD) often report that it can be challenging to start delivering services within their practice.

To support service implementation, North Western Melbourne Pharmacotherapy Network is funding 25 mentoring scholarships for GPs within the network catchment. This includes the local government areas of Banyule, Whittlesea and Nillumbik.

The scholarships will fund newly trained GPs, or GPs identifying a need for further support, to spend 3.5 hours with a highly experienced MATOD prescribing GP.

Please express your interest to pharmacotherapy@cohealth.org.au outlining:

  • When you completed Module 2 MATOD training with RACGP.
  • Number of patients for whom you are currently prescribing pharmacotherapy.
  • The expected demand you could meet if you were more confident in pharmacotherapy prescribing.
  • The issue or issues that you feel you require the most assistance from the GP mentor.
