Eastern Melbourne PHN (EMPHN) has received confirmation from the Department of Health that the National rollout out of COVID-19 vaccinations to Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs) will begin on Monday 22 February 2021.
The Department of Health has identified the first RACFs to be targeted for COVID-19 vaccination. RACFs who will be part of this initial phased rollout have already been notified by the Department of Health.
The Department of Health has produced the following guidance to support RACFs and other healthcare providers;
- Guidelines to support consent process
- Consent form for COVID-19 Vaccination
- Full suite of resources for health professionals on COVID-19 vaccination from the Department of Health
PHNs will support the coordination of the vaccine rollout, working in partnership with the Department of Health and its contracted workforce provider to implement plans for the vaccine roll-out within their respective regions. PHNs will act as a key for communication and a liaison point for RACFs for the vaccination program.
