EMPHN Provider Newsletter August 5

Message from EMPHN

As each of us grapples with the individual impacts of the pandemic, together with tighter restrictions in Melbourne and across Victoria, we recognise the stress that multiple population groups are experiencing—people living in aged care, the elderly and others living in isolation, those experiencing domestic violence, and many facing mental health and AOD challenges. We recognise, too, the exceptional support by you and so many in our community who are at the frontline and are a familiar, local presence to so many.

As recently indicated in the Department of Health newsletter from Dr Ruth Vine and Christine Morgan on 24 July: “To support the Victorian Primary Health Networks affected by the recent COVID-19 outbreak, the Department of Health has provided flexibility in terms of funding and reporting arrangements to ensure communities affected by the most recent restrictions are getting services on the ground appropriate to their needs as quickly as possible.”

We encourage our commissioned providers to reach out to us as you continue your valuable work in the community in ever-more stressful circumstances. Our contract managers will also regularly be in contact with you.
