EMPHN Grant Opportunity

EMPHN Grant Opportunity

03 April, 2020

EMPHN is looking to support practices to maintain their commitment to seeing respiratory patients and testing for COVID-19 when safe to do so.

To support these efforts EMPHN is offering a one-off, up to $2,000 grant per practice site towards the purchase of equipment to make the practice safer for face-to-face visits and testing.

Conditions:

Grant is only open to clinics that are making an exceptional effort to keep their doors open to assess their respiratory patients and test where indicated if they have the capacity to do so.

This is a time limited opportunity until funds run out. Please consider your practice's requirements early and submit a request by 9 April 2020.

Items that you may consider purchasing are: gazebos, trestle tables, sneeze guards, PPE (where you can find it) and anything else you can think of that would help your practice - we really don’t mind if you think it would help your practice keep up its commitment to seeing respiratory patients.

Purchases made from 25 January 2020 will be considered.

What you need to do:

  1. Email practicesupport@emphn.org.au referencing “COVID-19 grants” to request the grant and confirm that you continue to see and support respiratory patients.
  2. We will confirm via email the acceptance of your request.
  3. Please then provide an invoice to Eastern Melbourne PHN with proof of purchase when these have been made (receipts).

The team at EMPHN understand the frustrations about access to gowns, gloves, goggles, swabs and sanitiser which remain the primary concern to GP practices.

EMPHN has no source of these items and the Commonwealth has no current source despite international efforts to procure them.  We are acutely aware that $2,000 will not solve these problems, however we are committed to doing whatever we can and recognise practices have recently or will need to outlay funds to make their practices as safe as possible.
