EMPHN AGM: Dr Stephen Duckett sends message about innovation

21 November, 2019

More than 70 partners and stakeholders joined Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network’s (EMPHN’s) Board, Clinical Council, Community Advisory Committee and staff at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday 18 November.

AGMs can be straightforward affairs, but when Dr Stephen Duckett gave the opening address he had a straight-down-the-line message for administrators, clinicians and funders of our primary health system. You can read his speech published on Croakey here.

EMPHN CEO Robin Whyte reflected on health outcomes, healthcare experiences and system integration achievements, detailed in EMPHN’s digital Annual Report www.emphn18-19ar.com officially launched on the night.

Attendees were also invited to engage with staff on key initiatives towards achieving EMPHN’s transformative vision under its new Strategic Plan 2020-2025

Three new directors were appointed to the Board – Terry Symonds, Dr Caroline Johnson and Tim Flowers, and Prof Jane Gunn was reappointed. The appointments follow the retirement from the Board of Lindsay McMillan and Peter Trye, and fills a vacancy held since last year. Taryn Rulton also joined EMPHN as Independent Member of the finance sub-committee.
