Aged mental health series - depression in the older adult

St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne is pleased to deliver its four-part series on Aged Mental Health. Each meeting has been accredited for 2 CPD Education points.

Overview:

As we all know, and is becoming more evident in the reports generated by the National Mental Health Royal Commission and Victorian Aged Care Royal Commissions, older people face unique challenges that can affect their mental health, including age discrimination, bereavement, social isolation, susceptibility to chronic disease, and transition to retirement. Unfortunately, older people with depression and anxiety are generally under-served, with insufficient access to clinical mental health care.
